VILLAGE PROFILE
LOCATION:
A narrow valley on the way to Hunza with an approximate area of 5 sq/km administratively comes under Gilgit District,northern areas of Pakistan. It is situated in the north of Gilgit district at latitude of 36.18 .978 to 36.19.5890 N and longitude of 74.01.75 to 74,36.120 E. Elevation ranges from 1800 meter above sea level in the valley to 2000 meter on the upper mountains area. A major Nalla divides rahimabad into two clusters, One is Paeen and second is rahimabad bala.
Village has the unigure cluture and pople,mostly people are enganged with Agriclure and farming and few people are engeged with some other activities like business, job in different sectors.
Rahimabad villages is famous for grapes and apricots.people earn their income from these resources
PEOPLE:
Mostely people are migrated from central Hunza.
LANGUAGE:
local language is brushaski, people can speak other local languages, like Shina, Khwar.
HISTORY:
Rahimabad's oldest name was "Partab singh Pura" later people called matumdass (Black Plain) and now its official name is Rahimabad, according to old people their was a sikh raja named Partab singh pura and he was livining in the "Malchi" an area which is located in the uper side of rahimabad (400 meter hight) its a grazing land,there is a small spring people use this land for grazing in winter, due to shortage of water people cant irrigate the area, few land has been irrigated the land is divided in different tribes.

Village consist of 250 housholds with an aproximate 1781 population (Census 1998)
